How to test what BMW calls it a Dual HVAC Pressure Switch. Thinking it does low and high all in one. It has four wires with two connectors one black and one white connector. You would think this is the high pressure switch but they do not list any low pressure switch.

On GM vehicles the high side has a service port that the schrader valve is covered with a black rubber. You have to remove the service port and replace it. Requiring you to evacuate the system first and the recharge it after it's replaced.

Dude! You're video helped me SO MUCH! Found a old Maglite Mini sitting in storage that my family and I completely forgot about for several years. Took me a bit of investigating to find it had a old corroded battery stuck inside. Your video was what enabled me to take the Maglite apart and begin repairs. Now, I got it filled with damp Baking soda/bi-carbonate soda. Thanks to your help, hopefully in 24-ish hours, I might have me a restored Mini Maglite, thanks to you. 😃

Sir you are very, accurate, and precise, I like your videos ,I subscribe to your channel because I think your very knowledgeable, in your field of ac work,I ha e a few questions for you ,I hope you don't these questions, 2019 hyindai kona ,using 1234yf freon ,they had thier church brother to replace the ac compressor because the dealer told them it needed to be replaced, they also repla Ed the coolant temp sensor and the fan speed resistor on the fan housing, when they ask me to look at it ,it had no codes,when I test the pressure with a can of 1234yf it show empty,as I added it ran for 12 second then stop ,I let out some of the freon it still will not pump, I used a scan tool to activate the ac relay ,and the clutch clicked ,when I try to activate the relay with the engine running it says failed ,when i put straight 12volts to the the ac solenoid thats on the rear of the compressor and the the clutch and the fan it blows cold ,...by itself the clutch will run for 12 or 15 second bit the solenoid won't activate ,I'm not sure if the problem is the ac climate control,or the fuse box ,,I don't have alldata for 2019 vehicles, any thoughts, thanks.

I just tried that and so far this method didnt seem accurate. I jumped my battery left the car running, loosened the positive/red connector and took it off. and it stayed running which according to you and the person at oreily auto parts means its the battery. I drove down to the auto parts store and had my battery tested and they said the battery is good and its your alternator going out, plus they heard the slight squeel from the alternator. So far this did not work with a 2016 Nissan Altima SL 4 cylinder. Unless Oreily auto parts got it wrong. I'm going to take it to a shop within the next couple days and have it figured out for sure. If it turns out to be the battery i will update the comment

One should use a REAL gauge set and add the refrigerant by weight. Everything else is guessing.

Is there any downside to adjusting the pressure switch so that the differential between turn on and cut off not so great? I really hate that my water pressure goes from barely a trickle at 30 psi to suddenly going fire-hose full blast at 50 psi. it's really annoying. I think I'd like to adjust the switch so that in turns on at 45 psi and continues to cut off at 50 psi. Yes I realize that will cause the pump to cycle on and off more frequently, but the 20 psi pressure differential is ridiculous.

My ford escape cools well on day time, buy night time it doesn’t cool, when i off and on the compressor it cools for 30 to 40 secs and doesn’t cool again Will it be the temp sensor inside the evaporator?

Mmm when you were checking the voltage at the connector you left the clip on the positive side of the battery so you were checking ground not voltage. That's still fine actually because you also have to check ground too as well as battery voltage. Repeat the same thing tho just take the lead and put it to the negative side. You won't get voltage right away that's fine you would turn on the car and everything along with AC to get voltage that way. The safest way would be a bi-directional scanner that can turn the clutch on then do the test. I use a test light on ground it's easier for me that way. Still great video on AC it's nice to see a video that can help people with this topic ac is nice in your car especially when it's like 105 out and also humid. Like where I live and seeing the comments this vid is doing wonders for everyone. Hope it racks like all the views x3.

Got any tips for unscrewing and removing a corroded on tail cap? I can't get mine off to remove the batteries, and have ruined one or two others trying with various vices/pliers/wrenches. I tried penetrating oil, and soaking it in vinegar. It's locked on tight!

What was your root problem? My condenser turns on and the fan spins, but the air inside is not cold. Is that what you fixed by replacing the relay switch?

Good info to know, however, you still need to use a scan tool to get the codes to give you a direction to go towards. As a general rule for me, I will do oil and coolant change,spark plugs, coils, gas cap, belts, thermostat, O2 sensors as general maintenance on a vehicle with over 175000 miles. A shop will charge up to $200 or more nowadays just for diagnostics so I don't mind putting items like this on. Keep in mind just throwing new parts at a problem without knowing what the problem is will get frustrating and expensive. It is getting harder for DIY'ers to work on cars because of computer ECM issues, some parts need to be programmed, do a relearn procedure, etc. But in general... Do your homework, watch lots of RUclips videos and try to buy a good rated car and maintain it properly.

During winter, would it be worth it to turn on the recirculation while the engine is still warming up because the engine isn’t yet warm enough to provide maximum heat? With recirculation some of the heat already in the cabin gets reused, allowing to cabin heat up quicker. Once the engine is at operating temperature, recirculation can be turned off.
